Mr. John Shaw is Vice Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Biocon.
Mr. Shaw, who has been with Biocon since 1999, has had a major contribution in the transformation of Biocon from a small company into a biotech behemoth. As Vice Chairman, Mr. Shaw plays a key role in the financial and strategic development of the Biocon group, as well as, corporate governance.
Prior to joining the Biocon’s Board of Governors in 1999, he had worked with Coats Viyella Plc in various capacities at several locations around the world for over three decades. He was Chairman of Madura Coats Ltd from 1991-98.
Mr. Shaw holds a Master’s degree in Arts (Economic Hons.) in History and Political Economy from Glasgow University, United Kingdom.
He is married to Ms. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairman & Managing Director, Biocon Limited.
